Double black (off-piste) Tamarack, ID
Bananna Bowl drops 2,206 vertical feet over 5,420 feet of skiing, with a steepest pitch of 39° about 1,710 feet below the top. That's steeper than 67% of the 2,251 double black runs we've measured in North America, and the 2nd steepest of 70 named runs at Tamarack. It faces east.
Facing east at an average 24°, Bananna Bowl gets about 91% of the winter sun that flat ground at Tamarack does, December through March. That's sunnier than 61% of the runs we've measured, and the 61st sunniest named run at Tamarack. Its top sits at 7,250 feet.
With little slope to hide behind, it takes nearly the full winter sun of open ground: powder settles and turns heavy sooner after a storm, and spring snow softens early. Shading from ridges and trees isn't counted yet.
